NomaWallet Nomad Finances

1 Introduction

NomaWallet ("the App") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our mobile application. Our fundamental principle is that your financial data is yours, and we prioritize privacy in the design of our technology.

2 Data Collection and Storage

  • Local Storage (Nomad Mode): The App is designed to work primarily "offline". Your financial data, profiles, notes, and images are stored locally on your device's memory. We do not have our own servers where we store, sell, or process your personally identifiable data.
  • Cloud Sync (iCloud): If you use the synchronization feature, the App will use your personal Apple iCloud account. This data is transmitted directly from your device to Apple's servers. We do not have access to these files.

3 Third-Party Services

To ensure stability and functionality, we use trusted services that may process limited data:

  • Google Firebase Crashlytics: To detect crashes and errors. It collects anonymous information about the state of the device at the time of an unexpected crash.
  • RevenueCat: To manage "Premium" subscriptions. Uses an anonymous identifier to validate your subscription status.
  • OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): When using geolocation, your coordinates are momentarily sent to convert them into a readable address. NomaWallet does not track your location in real time.
  • Google Cloud Vision API: When using the receipt scanner, the captured image is securely and temporarily sent to Google's servers to extract text using AI. Google does not store these images.

4 Device Permissions

The App may request access to:

  • Location (GPS): Optional. Used only when pressing the "GPS" button on a specific expense.
  • Notifications: For reminders of recurring charges or billing notices.
  • Files/Storage: To allow you to save manual backups (.JSON) or generate Excel reports.
  • Photos/Camera: Optional. Used to: (a) Upload a profile logo, (b) Scan group QR codes, and (c) Scan receipts and invoices. The camera captures the image for AI processing, but NomaWallet does not save the physical photo of the ticket in its database.

5 Security and Data Retention

  • Deletion: If you delete the application, all local data will be permanently erased.
  • Control: You are the sole owner of your data and can export or delete it completely from the settings at any time.

6 Shared Mode and Group Trips

When using "Groups" features, the nature of storage changes to allow collaboration:

  • Shared Data: Your username, profile photo, and group expenses will be visible to other members who hold the Group Code.
  • Cloud Storage: Shared group data is stored on secure servers (Google Firebase) to allow real-time synchronization.
  • Identifiers: A unique device identifier is collected to manage security and authorship of expenses.
  • Responsibility: The Group Code acts as an access key. It is the user's responsibility to share it only with trusted individuals.

7 Fair Use Policy (AI)

NomaWallet offers Artificial Intelligence (AI) features that entail operational costs. To ensure the sustainability of the service:

  • Scanning Limit: The use of the AI scanner is subject to a reasonable use limit of up to 100 receipts per calendar month.
  • Restrictions: Automated, mass, or scripted use is prohibited.
  • Suspension: NomaWallet reserves the right to temporarily limit access if a pattern of abusive use is detected.
